Friday, September 30 15. Implementation of Senate Bill 11This session focuses on the implementation of Senate Bill 11 and the historic modernization of Assisted Living in Kentucky. Senate Bill 11 passed the 2022 session of the Kentucky General Assembly and transfers regulatory oversite of Assisted Living from the Department for Aging and Independent Living to the Office of Inspector General. Senate Bill 11 also remakes Assisted Living from a social model to a basic health model. Senate Bill 11 will modernize the Assisted Living Level of Care by allowing existing Personal Care Providers to become Assisted Living Providers. Existing ALC providers can remain a social model and existing Person Care can remain PC. Inspector General Adam Mather will update attendees regarding the status of the new licensure regulations and also inform us about what to expect in future regulatory oversite.
