Key Reasons to Attend the Annual Conference

  • The Annual Conference is designed to help attendees consider what’s next for their communities and to provide ideas on how to tackle some of the challenges we all face – building momentum for our journey!

  • Unmatched networking – networking like you won’t experience at any other event. Attendees want to gain knowledge and they also want to share.  As a member of the LeadingAge Kentucky community they, like you, know that the care for their residents only gets better when great ideas are shared.

  • Learn from your peers through sessions and with networking opportunities throughout the conference.

  • Celebrate individuals and communities who have gone above and beyond to improve the lives of older adults during the awards ceremony.

  • Education you can use – the field is getting more competitive and to stand out, you need to provide the most innovative programs and services.  You need to know what’s new and what’s working for others in order to effectively meet the expectations of your current and future residents.  Content is carefully curated to ensure the most relevant and timely topics are addressed in sessions.

  • Increase your knowledge and earn up to 9.0 hours of CE credit - choose from 20 breakout sessions!

  • Find the partners in the Trade Show that your community needs now – a good idea is only as good as a partner who can help you actualize it.  From companies that focus on the latest technological solutions or help to increase independence, your next partner is waiting for you in the Trade Show.

  • BEST VALUE Rate!  To better support our members, we are offering a group registration rate for LAI members.  This registration type allows for up to 3 people from the same campus to register for one flat fee!

  • Save Money!  Register by Sept 8 to save on the registration fee.

Having the opportunity to gather with your peers and take time away to refresh, recharge, and renew is more important now than ever before. This is the event that can make that happen. Register now to lock in the lowest rates!

Session Spotlight: Lessons to Embrace from the COVID Pandemic

Systemic imperfections have been revealed across the post-acute care continuum during the COVID Pandemic.  Some of them underscored the magnitude and urgency of issues that were already suspected of causing health or safety risks for both residents and caregivers. This interactive session will describe selected opportunities identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services for implementing policies that foster inter-agency and/or regulator-provider collaboration - to the ultimate benefit of long-term care community residents, staff or the families of either.  Which interventions and approaches launched in the tense climate of a public health emergency had the most positive impact?  Which of them deserve consideration as the most promising for us to keep through changes in statute, regulation or practice standards?  Click here for more information.

Pressure Ulcer Imposters

Pressure Ulcers

That skin disruption may look like a pressure injury, but is it? Ensure your team is correctly identifying tissue damage that mimics pressure injuries but is NOT of pressure etiology. Accurate identification of skin disruptions is required for appropriate care planning, survey readiness, quality review, and to prevent legal issues for facilities. This presentation will describe etiologies that may be mistaken for pressure damage, including chronic tissue injury (CTU), Kennedy Terminal Ulcer (KTU)/skin failure, moisture associated skin damage (MASD), deep tissue pressure injury (DTPI), and others. Attend this program to enhance your differential recognition skills for pressure ulcer/injury appearing skin issues.

There’s an identified gap in formal nursing school education and wound prevention and management in long-term care and HCBS clinical services. The purpose of this webinar is to provide recognized needed education to the long-term care industry on current regulatory and evidence-based and best practices for wound prevention and care. This will be your opportunity to arm yourself with the information needed for better wound treatment/prevention and survey outcomes.
